When aspiring filmmaker Blaine Kinney approaches the most powerful and wealthy man in town (Ray Wise) about investing in his new film, he gets all the money he needs on one condition: Blaine must wear a huge pair of garish, flower-shaped earrings constantly for one full year, and never tell anyone why he has them on.
This 16mm short has screened at over twenty international film festivals and won six best short film awards. Pennyweight also features comedian Bob Marley and an original score by Maine's own Rustic Overtones.
